Process

My process begins with paper, everyday objects, and the arrangement of a small physical space. I cut, fold, and layer paper to build three-dimensional still lifes. Color establishes the atmosphere, while light and shadow reshape the forms and their relationships.

Working between the constructed scene and the camera, I adjust each arrangement for a single viewpoint. Through the lens, physical depth can appear flat, shadows become shapes, and familiar objects become uncertain. The final photograph holds this tension between what is physically present and what the viewer perceives.
